Hi, I’m Taylor Kirkbride.

Before becoming a doula, I was an infant nanny for 15 years.  Even as a child I was always the little one who would ask to hold the baby, change the diapers, and soothe their tears. I feel that this nurturing sense was embedded in me from a young age. With my nanny career, I felt called to making sure that the family was cared for to the best of my ability.  That didn’t just mean the baby was cared for but that everyone had what they needed -- from meals, to cleaning to even tending to farms and errands.  I fully believe in the village mentality.  It truly takes teamwork to make the dream work.

My own birth experience was a wild ride. I am a single mother and walked through pregnancy and birth completely alone. I lost my my brother, who was my best friend, when I was 18 weeks pregnant and was fully thrown into the duality of what it means to move into this new cycle of life; having profound joy and sadness coexisting at once. Grief and motherhood has instilled in me a deep sense of empathy for the cycle of life.

The journey to becoming a doula just.. made sense. I entered into a Full Spectrum Doula Certification with Birth Arts International, have taken courses with Moss the Doula, Rachelle Gracia Selgia. I have a deep passion to ensure mothers and birthers feel educated, seen and celebrated during this time. Birth and postpartum are a time to tap into our innate intuition that lives within us.

What do our bodies need? How can we have a physiological birth and postpartum period? This is your journey: how do you want to move through it?

This is our time to create and move traditions down to our children. How do we get to show them the gift of being nourished?

Food is deeply intertwined with my practice as it is fully my love language. I feel like a bowl of homemade soup goes a long way in mending the heart and body. I have been a private chef for over 9 years and am now completing my journey to become a fully certified postpartum chef through Clover and Timothy. My hope is to interweave soul warming and nutrient dense foods to deeply nourish families through pregnancy and postpartum.

It has become a passion to serve, nurture and offer support in all ways. I always like to relate life back to gardening.  Let me help you tend to your soil so we can let this new journey grow.
